Sunday Best, Dress for Less

Happy Sunday to you! My weeks have been a whirlwind of sickness, report cards, parent teacher conferences, and standardized state testing review and preparation. I got so sick (one week ago) that a substitute teacher had to be called in 45 minutes after school started. I stayed in bed for 24 hours and then made myself go to school the following day. I hate missing school. The days following that ordeal were unpleasant. I’m a little better now, but I still have a runny nose and a slight cough. Woe, woe, woe is me *cue violin music*.

It’s hard to believe that spring is a few weeks away. I went shopping yesterday and the racks were filled with winter items—scarves, cardigans, and boots to name a few. I scored big time at Gap (again!) and I’m pretty happy with my finds. I found an adorable dress (I will make it modest and I’m happy that it was on sale in-store) that I can’t wait to wear and several vintage inspired blouses. Gap seems to have some pretty awesome sales and the majority of the things I find there have been under $10.

I ventured into Forever 21 and FINALLY found two long (and basic) knit skirts that I have been looking for. I wear knit skirts under dresses and skirts that aren’t as long as I’d like them to be. Forever 21 offers these skirts in solid colors and the two that I purchased were $7.80 each. I decided to wear the navy skirt this morning.

I paired the knit navy skirt with a gold New York & Company sequined skirt ($20) a tie neck cotton blouse from Gap ($7), electric blue tights from Target ($3), and Guess heels that I bought from Macy’s ($11). Grand total=$41.

I know that I will get a ton of wear out of this knit skirt. I love knit material because it’s easy to layer and I don’t feel like I weigh a ton. When it comes to layering I hate feeling as though I am wearing a ton of clothing. This skirt is actually ankle length, but I have it pulled up above my waist!

Have you found any items at an amazing price lately?
