With all this talk on my blog about the full skirt (here and guest blog for Chitown Fashionista here), it was about time I proved myself with a full skirt of my own. Oh, and I decided to try my hand at a video blog (vlog). I’m obviously super nervous and I sound like a man (I lost my voice last week). I hope you’ll understand!
It’s not very often that you stumble across the same vintage skirt more than once. I found this 1970ish era skirt at one of my favorite consignment stores. It was $18 and I just knew that if I didn’t plunk down the cash right then and there I’d never find the skirt again. Imagine my surprise when I was searching for vintage skirts and dresses in San Francisco and stumbled across the SAME skirt and its sister (a dress) in a thrift store in the Mission. Fast forward a few months later and I saw the exact same skirt at a Salvation Army about six miles always from the first location where I purchased the skirt. STRANGE.
Fashion know it alls proclaim that if you want to own the vintage full skirt look, then heels should be paired with the full skirt. I love vintage and decided to take this advice and wear my skirt with my stiletto peep toe purple Gucci heels.
I accomplished my goal of wearing a full skirt for spring 2011. Next goal? Adding some color to my pasty, pale legs!

You did great! I’m terrified of doing vlogs, so good 4 u that u went thru with it.
You’re my hero ;0) love it!!
Valencia, I’ve been wanting to post a vlog for awhile, but right when I was about to click “publish” I’d go back and delete the video. I just decided to give it a go today. Thanks for your kind words.
BRENDA, I love you. :O)

Wow, that is one pretty outfit, I love all the bright colors, everything is perfect and the skirt has just the right amount of fullness so that it doesn’t look overwhelming. One great outfit and I don’t think your voice sounds like a man at all. I enjoyed the video. =D
