Every year I seem to have a summer staple. Last year it was a loose cardigan that doubled as a cover up and a light weight coat while traipsing through San Francisco, Monterey, and Half Moon Bay. This year my summer go-to list has expanded to include a fedora, an oversized Kelly green purse, and a comfy maxi skirt.
I went on a fedora spree and I’ve purchased a total of five to add to my hat collection. Fedoras are quick and painless; I pop one on my big head and I’m ready to go.
Maxi skirts also fall into the no muss no fuss category. I don’t have to worry about length, making sure my legs are crossed, pulling down the hem, and other aggravating nuisances associated with shorter length skirts.
The Kelly green purse has two front pockets, three inner pockets, and enough room to hold my hand sanitizer, Wet Ones wipes, iPad, cell phone, and way too many gadgets and gizmos aplenty.

I am crazy about Maxi skirts! I hope they are still in next summer. I agree—no fuss, no muss. Throw it on with a cute top and sandals and BAM—you are comfy and COOL!
I bought 3 fedora hats for this summer. :D I love them. They are a timeless staple, in my opinion.

Michelle, this purse is won.der.ful. I’m trying to find a similar purse in brown/black. For now I enjoy the burst of color that the Kelly green color provides.

Nice! I love the maxi skirt. My summer staples are my high (yet comfy) cream wedges, my tiny aqua satchel side bag with studs from forever 21, flowy skirts and my bohemian headbands.

I’d say that my summer staples are definitely skirts—long maxi skirts. I really hate wearing pants when it’s unbearably hot and I don’t really like shorts, so skirts are great. Plus they are super comfortable.
You look fabulous! I love white skirts, so I have worn my share this summer, with my 3/4 sleeve t under it and a cute t over that. I think it looks nice.

Cindy, when I went to GAP and found this skirt it was a choice between the black skirt and a white one. I had to do a little bit of “eenie meenie miney moe” and the black skirt one. Now you have me thinking about the white skirt!

Hi! I absolutely love maxi skirts!! I’ve found a few at Marshalls and Ross. And yes, they’re comfortable and go perfect with either sandals or wedges! - For us, apostolic girls, I guess they will never go out of style.
