Today I’m showcasing a vintage inspired hairstyle that I LOVE and I hope you will too! I always get asked how I do this hairstyle, and it is really very simple! I’ve seen it work with long and short hair, so we’re all covered!
Items needed: A comb, spray water bottle, alligator clips, and hairspray. And few bobby pins for the finished product!
Let’s begin! Part your hair on your preferred side, then all the way down to your ear.
Wet this section of your hair completely.
You may have to keep water on it throughout the entire process.
Take your first small section, brush it backward, and pin.
Hold that pin down (hold it tight, it needs to stay in place!), and brush the rest of your hair forward.
Gather your next piece, and pin.
Again, brush all that hair back! Repeat this process down to your ear.
Depending on the thickness of your hair, you can do this on both sides. I just don’t have enough hair to do that 🙂
When you’re finished, use a light hairspray to tame any flyaways.
Let your hair dry for 15-20 minutes. If you can’t wait that long, you can blow dry your pinned hair.
When finished drying , take your pins out. Use bobby pins to secure your hair (keep them hidden!), you can play with the shape and structure.
I chose to put the rest of my hair up, so I put it in a ponytail and up in a bun.
And, voila! You’re done!
After your first time doing this, it takes no time at all! What did you think?
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, it is one of my favorite hairstyles. Happy weekend!
